What is Visa on Arrival? Visa that can be obtained upon arrival in your destination at the gate of entry following the payment of an official fee. Certain nationalities need to obtain a visa to visit Indonesia. This depends on the purpose of visit and the length of stay. Some may obtain a visa upon arrival in Indonesia, and some will need to apply for a visa in advance, at the nearest Indonesian Overseas Mission.

Batam Visa on Arrival

Nationals of these countries who are going on holidays are allowed to Indonesia up to 30 days without Visa. Visitors should be in possession of valid passport with minimum of 6 months validity and a return or onwards journey ticket at the time of arrival.

Nationals of these countries who are going on holidays, business and/or attending conventions, social or cultural visits, and government or official visit are allowed to stay in Indonesia of up to 30 days and can extend for 1 time for 30 days. Visitors should be in possession of valid passport with minimum of 6 months validity and a return or an onward journey ticket at the time of arrival.

*Countries not listed above have to apply Visa at the Embassy of Indonesia before arrival.
*Effective 19 of August 2013, All Iranian nationals must apply Visa at Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.

Entry Requirements for Visa on Arrival (VOA):

  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months as from the date of entry into Indonesia.
  • Payment of visa fees should be made in cash.
  • VOA may be extended only one time for maximum 30 days.
  • Onward or return tickets are compulsory.
  • Visa on arrival is not convertible or transferable to another type of visa.
  • The passport must contain at least one blank visa page.

Batam Visa on Arrival Fee

The application of the visa is upon arrival in Batam at the visa counters in the immigration area.

  • USD $10 for up to 7 days stay
  • USD $25 for up to 30 days stay
  • USD $20 per day for overstay

We highly suggest you to prepare the exact amount before departing Singapore. The visa officers in Batam will sometimes short change or give ridiculous exchange rate if paying in SGD$ or other currencies. There are money changers available at the Ferry Departure Hall in the Harbourfront Centre, Singapore.
