I received an email from a reader few days ago and she asked me some questions about Co2 Laser. I would like to share it with you all.
Q: Hi Chen, I would like to ask you, Do you recommend others to do Fractional Co2 Laser for the first time? I have many questions to ask you, hope you will reply me soon. Have a good day. 😉
A: Maybe you can try, but you must choose a good clinic. My first Co2 Laser treatment experience was not really good because it was more aggressive and the grid pattern look during the downtime was very ugly. My second Co2 Laser treatment experience at Medi-Klinik Wong, Zul & Rakan-Rakan was way much better. Read: Fractional Co2 Laser Day 65: Medi-Klinik Wong, Zul & Rakan-Rakan. However, I actually think that Co2 Laser does not help much. It is not a long term solution.
Q: Oh hey Chen! I am glad that you replied. Hehe! I plan to go to Dr. Wong clinic (as you went) because your skin looking good as time heals. I notice that you have no big problem on scars. What am I trying to say is my scars on cheek were like long time scars that will not be healed. Will scars fade after Co2 Laser treatment? As for long term solution, what will happen to the scars/pores?
A: Dr. Wong is really good. Ermm, I actually have no more pimples. My scars are more even. They are not as deep as before. You may ask the doctor since you are going to meet him. For long time deep scars, I think it will need many Co2 sessions. I asked Dr. wong before, for my case, he said I needed about 12 sessions, I think the treatment is too expensive and I cannot afford. Now I am trying some home remedies like 30% Salicylic Acid Peel and Dermaroller. However, I am not sure the result. My pores on nose are still very obvious. I want flawless skin, haha!
Q: Haha I guess that is everyone’s dream. Oh FYI, Groupon offers the Co2 Laser session for RM119. Or it is just for first time user?
A: I bought 2 sessions on Groupon for RM199. I think the deal is over. One normal session is about RM800 there.
An update on my skin:
Totally have no problems with my cheeks and foreheads. No Acne. No Pimples. Not oily. Did 2.0mm Microneedling (Dermaroller) few days ago on a small area of pores on my nose, rolled until my skin bled, skin has just peeled and that area is still a little bit pinkish as you can see from photo. Caused by acne in the past, my skin surface on nose is still uneven, pores are still large. My challenge is to reduce the unevenness of the skin surface and minimize the enlarged pores. It is a long journey, I know.
