Salicylic Acid Products for Acne

In this entry, I am going to talk about my favorite Salicylic Acid products for Acne and Acne Scars. Let me make clear to you, I am neither a dermatologist nor a medical doctor. Everything written on this site is merely my opinion based on my personal experiences. I had Acne for years, it was a nightmare. I tried almost all the treatments known to man. I had also seen quite a number of dermatologists and medical doctors which pretty much makes me an expert. In addition, I am not affiliated with any product mentioned, these are the products I use. I use Salicylic Acid Products to prevent Acne and reduce my Acne Scars.

Salicylic Acid Products for Acne Scars

Salicylic Acid is a type of acid derived from the bark of a willow tree. It is very common ingredient in many acne treatment products such as creams and washes. The percentage of Salicylic Acid used to treat Acne and Acne Scars varies between 1% and 60%. Most over-the-counter Salicylic Acid products were at one time limited to 2% but 10%, 20% and even 30% are now readily available. 2% to 5% Salicylic Acid are effective at clearing mild to moderate acne while 10% to 30% are effective at treating acne scars and damaged skin. My favorite Salicylic Acid products are pure Salicylic Acid Peel and Clearasil Pads. I have mentioned Clearasil Pads many times in my previous blog. I think Clearasil has the best Salicylic Acid products on the market for Acne. Price is considered reasonable too. I recently bought a tub of Clearasil Superfruit Pads from the Clearasil Daily Clear series on eBay for about 7 US Dollar. It contains only 1% Salicylic Acid which is suitable for everyday use. The pads gently exfoliate and cleanse your skin to help prevent blemishes. Most Clearasil products contain 2% Salicylic Acid.

Where to get Salicylic Acid products

It is hard to find Salicylic Acid products in my country. I usually get mine online on eBay. There are plenty of choices there. For deep Acne Scars, 2% to 5% is definitely not enough to get results. The higher the percentage, the stronger the acid. Strong acid need to be applied with extreme caution. Make sure you buy from a reliable seller and follow the instructions given exactly. Always perform a patch test in an inconspicuous area and wait 24 hours to observe signs of irritation before using. I am using 30% Salicylic Acid Peel once a month on my Acne Scars. I bought it from a seller named Skin Beauty Solutions on eBay. They are selling on Amazon too. If you have never used Salicylic Acid before, 10% might be right for you. You should start with a lower percentage and work your way up to higher percentage if needed.
